The image has long been an accompaniment to the explorer’s text. With a simplistic approach to land, light and people, Rupert’s 35mm Nikon is an essential travelling 3rd eye. Born in Vancouver, Canada and educated in England, from a family of medics and explorers, the spicy ingredients of curiosity, environment, humanity and magic rooted early within him. Beach combing the Pacific shores, exploring traditional and evolving cultures, contesting history, searching for immense landscapes are a part of his poetic wonder. Featured here are the caravan lands; Anatolia, the spaciousness and softness of Andalucia, the Andean Cordillera, the Amazon jungle, as well as the many faces encountered en-route. All these landscapes are being altered by human and environmental action.

Rupert currently is completing a Ph. D; Andes to Amazon: An Environmental Analysis of Peru's Interior through Travel Writing. He is the author of several successful travel books that focused on Cuba, as well as creating, writing, performing and producing 13 albums under the artist name of ‘Up, Bustle & Out’ for Ninja Tune Records.
